Ben's Brigade

Ben was an ROTC Cadet at the University of Houston and just a few days from signing a commitment letter with the Army to map out his plans for his future when his accident occurred. He was working his way through school and actively pursuing and winning scholarships to pay his tuition. With his untimely death Ben will not be able to fulfill his dreams with the Army and the Secret Service. However, Ben's Family plans to help other Cadets who demonstrate the same work ethic, leadership and honor by establishing a memorial scholarship fund in Ben's name at the University.

In a special ceremony during half time at the University of Houston/Army football game September 16, Lt. Colonel Reed presented Ben's parents Scott & Doris with Ben's with a special plaque of Ben's medals, ribbons and awards. This ceremony also launched the Benjamin Jones Memorial ROTC Scholarship with Ben's parents donating the first $1,000.00 in Ben's name. A special presentation was also made the Army's Jump Team the Golden Knights.
