On Wednesday, April 17, at the 2002 Cougar Battalion Awards Ceremony the first annual Benjamin Scott Jones Scholarship was awarded to University of Houston Cadet McVay Chambers.  LTC Michael R. Czaja along with Ben's parents, Scott and Doris Jones presented the first $500 award.  Cadet Chambers best exemplified Ben's desire and ambition to become an officer in the United States Army.  This award will be made annually from the Benjamin Scott Jones Memorial Endowment Fund.
