Ben
Even as we near three years since you've been
with us, you are still very much in my heart and my thoughts. I think I
can't miss you more, but the void in our lives seems to grow with each
passing year. I can't help but think that's because you would still
contribute more and more and nothing can make up for that. I wish we could
have had more time together in this life and I pray we may be able to make
up for that loss in the next. I love you more than you could have
known and miss you more than I could ever express.
Love
Uncle Ronnie

 | Ben,
It's been almost 3 years since the last time we saw each other. Just
recently I've been thinking a lot about you because I've been writing my
graduation essay about my college experience. It's almost like a dream
world, or a nightmare I should say, when I look back at this time period. I
look at your picture and I can't stop shaking my head because it just seems
so wrong. Tears come so easily, like an open wound that can't heal. It
wasn't your time. I'm about to graduate and you should already be a college
graduate. I would not have wanted you involved with the War on Iraq, though.
Ben, we only knew each other for a small time. You happened to be right in
front of me in formation. You always wore that gold chain around your neck.
You were so cute. You always smiled and though you were a man of few words
you were so sweet. I'm sorry you are not physically in my life anymore. I
look back at that one week I spent in Texas and it seems like it wasn't even
my life. I don't know why that had to happen. You have a very strong family
who misses you so much. I miss you. I'll see you other the other side. I
hope it is as beautiful as I believe it to be. With love and light,
Jennie

 | My sweet Ben; It is the eve of the second year anniversary of your passing from this life to the eternity you now know. How much it
hurts to think of your accident and death for us as a family. Our consolation is in the hope of Jesus Christ, the only known one to die, raise from the dead and is
alive! You have known him face to face now for two years. Your family loves you more than can be imagined. We miss your sweet face and immeasurable sense of
humor. I miss you more than you can know. I think of you constantly. You keep us straight down here! Have peace, my sweet son, have peace. Will see you in the
morning light of His glory and I cannot wait! I Love You Ben!! Uncle Baw

 | Ben:
It's been nearly two years now... and I still think about you regularly... especially this time of year... your Mom and Dad are coming down this weekend... it's so
good to be with family right now. I was out in Houston this summer, and I walked into your old room. How strange it is not to have you in it. Your Dad gave me one of
your old sweatshirts... you know... the old navy football one... trust that it will be the number one article in my winter collection this year. So many wonderful
things have been happening lately. Amy has married a wonderful man that you couldn't have picked better yourself... and they're expecting a baby boy in a few short
weeks. We're all very sure that you had a hand in that one. After all, they have honored him with your name. After all this time, you remain in my heart... know that is
where you will always stay... I love you Ben...

 | Ben: Even though we never had the chance to meet I see the overwhelming effect you have left on your family. Your warm and gracious personality lives on through your
parents and your sister every time they reminisce about you. Continue looking over them as I know you do, and know how much love they hold for you in their hearts.
Also I ask a favor of you too look over your soon to arrive nephew William Benjamin. We will make sure he knows he has big shoes to fill (living by your examples) as
his Uncle Ben would expect only the best out of him.
I know you will continue to work your magic, (PS thanks for helping with bringing little Will to us so fast).
Your Brother-in-law Bill

I've never met you personally but I've grown to know you well over the past several years through Amy. I know you are a fine young man and that your family loves

moods. You are in my prayers constantly. I know God will help you through this time. Love, Mary Ellen Curry |
 | Ben,
Hi my name is Matt & i work with your sister Amy, there are very few words someone can say to you in your situation except for "Good Luck". With family
and friends and the faith you will be able to get through this passage in your life and go onto the next round. I know that if there was any one who you could choose as
a supporter in your corner you would find no one as good as Amy. I hope you get well and you & your family will be in my thoughts and prayer's, Matt Stott
|

 | Hey Ben: Just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you and love you very much. I hope you start to feel better soon. I am hoping you may want to hang
out on the River Walk with us next summer. Thinking of you daily, Brandi
|
 | Ben: The roller coaster you are on makes the Texas Giant look like a kiddie ride. It makes ROTC Boot Camp loom like a playground for 3 year olds.
You have an incredibly difficult yet very important job...finish the ride. Focus on the fight and take each day and each obstacle as a test that you will
overcome. Win the fight. There are more people than you can possibly know who are praying for you and cheering you on. Love, Uncle Chuck and
Aunt Diana.
|
 | Ben, It's Stepho who works with Amy. I get an update on your condition almost everyday from Amy and I just wanted you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you

Hi Ben, Bruce and I are Lee and Susan Burns parents in Georgia. They told us about your accident and since then we have been praying for you. We also have
our church (NewLife Church in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA) praying for you. We have an awesome God who loves us so very much. And you must be a very special person
for God to allow this suffering to come to you. He wants you to trust Him every minute of every day for everything you need. He can and will meet our every
need. He loves us so much, he gave his Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. If we accept Jesus by faith and ask Him to be the master of our lives, we
will become his children and spend eternity with him in heaven. This makes every pain and suffering worthwhile.
From the emails you have received, sounds like you and your family are great people. I'm sure all the wishes and prayers for you all will not go unanswered.
Love and Prayers,
Marilyn and Bruce Johnson

 | Hey Ben, Its your cousin Lindsay! I remember the fun we had at my sister Brandi's wedding. At the rehearsal dinner I played my Austin Powers CD and every time
I looked at you, you were playing the air guitar... I figure I must have met my A. Powers buddy, because I thought I was the only one that liked Austin Powers cuz no
one else seemed to like it as much as me so when you finally get out of that hospital lets get together and watch Austin Powers 1 and 2...Deal??!!!! Just so you know, I
think of you constantly and if anyone can survive this its gonna be YOU!!!! Well I'll see ya soon and I LUV YOU MUCHOS GRANDE!!!! Keep fighting!!!

 | Ben, My husband Lavon works with your Aunt Jean. I have never met you but you have been in my thoughts and prayers. Your faith and strength are an inspiration to me

Ben, I realize that I can not possibly know the full range of emotions and pain you are suffering, however I know that you have the inner strength to pull through
this terrible situation. When I was 22, and a Sergeant E5, I broke my neck in a tank accident, I was partially paralyzed and not expected to ever command a tank
or even regain the use of my right arm. Bunk !!! I not only fought through two lengthy surgeries but came back in as an Airborne / Special Forces
Infantryman. A lot of the recovery process is in the mind.
I am not a real outwardly religious person, but my prayers are with you and for a speedy recovery.
The impact that you made on this Corps of Cadets in such a relatively short time speaks volumes about your inner character. Hang tough and don't let this
beat you, this is the biggest battle that you'll ever have to fight. I know you can do it ! For what it's worth, if you ever want to talk or if I can
possibly be of any assistance just give me a holler !
Good Luck & God Bless

and thinking of you in the weeks to come. Suelyn Hollingsworth

 | Ben, I want you to know and always remember that all of us, at the University ROTC Department and our families, have you and your family in our prayers. You
are an incredible young man. Your fighting spirit and your will to overcome hardships are the true measures of who you are. Never surrender....never. I am proud of you,
I am in awe of your strength. You represent a warrior's spirit and I will always expect nothing less. In my heart of hearts, I know that you will triumph and that God's
grace and His Holy Spirit travel with you. You are never alone!! CPT(P) Paul Gass Rangers Lead the Way! |
 | Ben: I know from personal experience that Faith and Prayers can get us through anything and the Lord will not give us more than we can handle. I know right now you
wonder if this is true but with a fighting spirit you will endure. I know you can feel all the prayer that people are lifting up for you and the Holy Spirit is very
near watching everything. "T"

 | Hey Ben!!~~~ I am your cousin Lauren's best friend and I have gotten to know you through your ride on the roller coaster of recovery. I don't know if you ever had a
moment of silence when you were in high school but we do every day during first period and you have become part of my prayer that I say every morning. I lit a candle
for you when I went to church and then Lauren and I lit another one for you again. I am praying very hard for you and from what I hear you are quite strong so I am
expecting to get to meet the great Ben Jones in person. Get better soon. Love, Jillian Tinsley |
 | Hi Ben: You don't know me, but my name is Sara and I've known your cousin Brandi just about forever. (Way back in the days of pigtails and slumber
parties!) Even then, she always had a strong relationship with, and love for her family. It pains me to know that you are going through this ordeal and I hope your
recovery is quick! You and your family are in my thoughts. Sara |
 |
Ben, My family heard about you through my uncle's bible study, and we want you to know we are praying for you. Fight-fight-fight! Don't give up on
your dreams or on God. Family from Iowa.
|
 | Ben, I'm so sorry you are having to go through this very difficult time. God never gives us anything that we can't handle, and I know you will pull through
this a much stronger person. Hang in there, Ben. You will be up and around before you know it. Your family and friends need you. We love you very much. Beth, John,
Carrie and John Luis Reyna |

Ben: As I prepared for the upcoming fall semester, I was very excited about the great young students I would have in my class. You are the best of the
pack. As you know, I am not known as the cadre member at the University of Houston to "spread sugar" down the halls in order to make you future leaders
feel good. Since the semester is about to commence and you will not be able to attend my first class, I want you to know what you would have eventually found
out. You are a role model for your peers and your positive attitude and determination should be emulated by all that know you. I was proud to tell my fellow
officers at Fort Knox that you were one of my cadets. This semester, I will leave the front left desk open for you...the place of honor. May God bless you
and you family.

Big Ben, I can't be there with you, Doris, Scott, and Amy. Instead I will be "doing" from Rosenberg everything I can to support you and your
family. The site of your accident is my home town, and I have collected newspaper articles locally. Little Duke (your Mom's LATEST puppy) is being fostered
by my Missy and Nasty. Flyers have gone everywhere for a blood drive Aug. 21, and for financial donations and prayer lists. All four of the local fire
departments and 12 churches were contacted, and all the local branches of Bank of America and Wells Fargo. All else I can do is hold out my hands and let you know
that God and I love you, and that your future is in the hands of the greatest master of all. I will not question his decisions, and will send my support to all of
you every day, all day....Your mama's friend Evonne Alford

 | Hey Ben: I know that you don't know me, but I am one of Lauren's friends. I feel really bad and I want to put my faith in you. I can tell you are a good person and
that you didn't deserve this. I mean people always say "everything happens for a reason" so maybe there was a really good reason...I pray for you at
nights to get better... and I am hoping that He hears my prayers.. I really want you to get better.. but I know that everything will would out just fine.. And if you
ever get discouraged.. just take a look around.. because as you can tell there a about a billion and one people who care about you! And I make that a billion and two!
Remember to smile and never give up! God bless. Your friend Daphanie |
 | Ben, I'm thinking about you and wishing you a speedy recovery. When you are ready to connect with other burn survivors, you will find a lot of supportive and caring
people through the Phoenix Society and Burn Survivors Online. I can see that you have wonderful family and friends. That makes a big difference! Kathy Edwards (author
of "How to Help" article). |
 | My name is Kevin Barrett. I am married to Rosie Theobald Barrett (Dette Theobald's younger sister) from Vicksburg, MS. I started my nursing career at the Burn Center
at UNC Chapel Hill, NC. I worked with one of the best burn surgeon/human beings I've ever known. He moved to Texas to work at Brooke. His name is Chris Lentz. He was a
major in the Army last time I heard. Hope things are going well for you. It sounds as if you've been through a lot. I know it seems like you'll never reach the end of
all the surgeries, therapy, medications, etc., etc.. I know first hand that this process is unbelievably depressing and overwhelming. But you can do it!! I worked
with some very badly injured children and adults who came through things you would not believe, to become true inspirations to all of us. You can do it too!! You are in
our thoughts and prayers. Please tell Dr Lentz (if you know him) that Kevin Barrett says he is still considered a red-headed step child in Chapel Hill....and that Kevin
misses him a lot and says Hi. Rosie is the one who told me about you and she has tried to write also. Kevin |
 | Dear Ben: Like many others, you don't know me very well. I had the pleasure of meeting you at Pat and Brandi's wedding. I know that there are no words to make
your struggle easier - but the love, prayers, and support of your family and friends will. ( Rest assured that you have them!) When you recover and walk back out into
the world, some things will be brand new to you. But the wisdom, strength, and courage in your heart will illuminate you with a glow from within that will draw people
to you - it has already begun to do so! And just as they are now, your loved ones will be there to help you through the tough times. I pray for your strong recovery.
God Speed - Amanda Marusak |
 | Jones, I have been praying that the Lord would watch over you and keep you. He has answered my prayers as well as many other people's prayers. I wish you the very

 | Dear Ben, When I heard that an accident had involved cadets from our company, I was scared. When I heard that it was someone I knew, you, my heart got heavy. Ever
since Nora told me about you, I've been praying for you, your family, as well as the other victims and families. You were tough at camp, and I have faith that you will
pull through just fine. And I know that you will succeed in life. Besides being hard-working, you were also a pleasant person to be around at camp. Being in a different
platoon I didn't get much of a chance to talk to you. Mostly during the practice for the CCTT. When you are feeling better, get my e-mail address from Segura and let me
know how you are. Remember, the Drill Sergeants showed us that we are stronger than we think. So stay motivated. Naomi Falby, 1st Platoon Warlords |

through this crisis. My prayers are with you always, Dr. Diana Collins. |
 | Dear Ben, I have known you from a distance all your life. You and I celebrate the same birthday, June 25! Your Aunt Jean is my best friend and has been keeping me

 | Hi, I am Megan Christenson. I work at the hospital with Brandi. She gives us updates everyday and tells us how strong you are! I just want to encourage you to hang
on. God has a plan and I know that you are a very special person in His eyes. No one knows what the purpose of our lives are, but I am convinced that you have an
important one. God will give you, your family, and your friends the strength to get through this trying time. Have faith. You are in my thoughts. Megan |

 | Ben, You don't know me, but I am Abby's best friend. Although we haven't met, I know your whole family and feel I am much a part of it. All I can offer is my prayers
and support. I know that you have the will to continue fighting. You are a strong Christian. I want you to remember a passage from the bible. "I can do all things
through Christ who strengthens me." Your family loves you so much. Keep the faith and keep on being strong. Your family and friends are behind you 100% and can't
wait until they can take you home. Fight for yourself, your family, and your friends. There is much more life for you to experience. I know you will pull through.
You are a very special man, and have touched the lives of many. I will continue to pray and follow up on your progress. Remember to put your trust in God, for he is
almighty. Keep fighting!!!! May God bless you and your family. Audra Ward

Hi Ben, This is Neal Ong from 7 Crown Liquor in Rosenberg. I have kept a close look at your recovery from your website on the internet. And there is a lot I
wanted to say, but I'm pretty sure you have read all of it already through so many get well cards and letters. So I wanted you to know that my family and I are praying
for you, and hoping that you will get well soon. I'll certainly call you whenever you are well enough to talk. God bless you and your family. Stay in touch.

 | Hey Jones-- It's Ewers from basic camp. I don't know if I can say anything that would bring you more comfort than having such a loving and supportive family. I just
want you to know that I'm thinking about you and praying for you. Take it to God. He'll handle it. I know you're a fighter, and that you can overcome these troubles.
Remember, though, that you don't have to do it alone. You've got all of us, all over the country pulling for you. Don't ever give up. You can do it. Jordon Ewers 4th

 | Hi Ben, You don't know me, but I grew up with and went to school with your dad and I know your mother as well. They are both very special and loving people and I
know that you are as well. I live in Falls Church, VA just outside of Washington, DC, and I want you to know that I had a special Novena said for you and for your
family at St. James Parish. The Blessed Mother is watching over you even as I write this note to you, and she loves you so very much. You will overcome this burden and
return to your family and loved ones soon, because of all of the love that surrounds you. When I was a young boy, I was critically injured in a shooting incident. I was
brought back and given another chance in life because there were things I needed to do and people I needed to have the chance to help. I know in my heart the same is
being done for you now. There is much left for you to do Ben, and we need you. Your friend in spirit, Paul Tuccio, St. Aloysius Class of '72
